Configure calling card parameters

Every behaviour of the calling card IVR is an option under Advanced Parameters of the application: whether the balance is announced, how many digits a card number has, how many wrong attempts are allowed. Unset options use the defaults listed in Calling card configuration options. This step sets the options a typical product needs. Allow 15 minutes.

  1. Open DIDs & IVR Apps → IVR Applications.
  2. Click the Name of the application, Red Card.
  3. Open the Advanced Parameters tab. It is a table of option rows with Value and Action.

For each option click Add Row, select the option, enter its Value and click Save in the row:

  1. Card Number Length: 10, the exact number of digits of your card numbers. The IVR stops reading digits at this length, so callers do not need to press #.
  2. Use Word PIN: False. With the default True the IVR asks only for a “PIN code”, treats it as the card number and never checks a password; with False it asks for the card number and then the PIN.
  3. Announce Balance: True to announce the balance after the PIN.
  4. Allow Empty PIN: False so that a card without a PIN cannot be used. Set True only for cards that are authenticated by the number alone.
  5. Announce Duration: True to tell the caller how long they can talk to the dialled destination; No Seconds In Duration: True keeps the announcement short.
  6. Number Of Attempts To Enter A Card: 3 and Number Of Wrong Destinations: 3 limit retries before the IVR hangs up.
  7. Disconnect Warning Time: 60 to warn the caller a minute before the balance runs out.
  8. Call Several Destinations: True to let the caller dial another number after the first call without calling the access number again.

  1. Click Save & Close.
  2. Call the access number with a test card and listen: the language menu, the card prompt, the balance, the duration announcement after dialling.

Result: the IVR behaves as configured. Options take effect for the next call; running sessions keep the old values.
