Registrations

Some vendors accept calls only from a registered SIP client, as a DID provider or a hosted PBX does. A registration makes the switch send REGISTER to the vendor on behalf of one of your vendor connections and keep it refreshed, so the vendor knows where to deliver calls and accepts the calls you send.

Open Vendors → Registrations in the left sidebar. The URL is /registrations.php. The screen is available to users with system management rights.

Screenshot "admin-panel/registrations" has not been generated yet — see scripts/screenshots/screens.yml.
Column Meaning
Status Green check: registered; hover for the contact and the expiry time. Red cross: the last attempt failed; hover for the reason. Spinning arrows: a refresh is in progress, red after a failure. Red ban: Connection is Blocked. Spinner: Processing, please wait… for a new entry
Name Name of the registration, linking to the form
Description Free text
Vendor / Connection The vendor and the connection whose credentials are used, linking to both

The list refreshes itself every few minutes. The trash icon in a row deletes the registration.

Before you start, the vendor and the connection must exist and the connection must hold the SIP credentials the vendor gave you. See Connections.

  1. Click Add.
  2. Enter Name. It must be unique.
  3. Select Vendor, then Connection. The panel fills in Username from the connection and Contact as sip:<username>@<your switch IP>.
  4. Enter Domain: the vendor’s registrar, an IP address or a host name.
  5. Change Expires if the vendor asks for another registration interval. The default is 180 seconds.
  6. Click Save & Close.
Field Meaning
Name, Description Your label for the entry. Name is required
Vendor, Connection The connection whose credentials are used. Required
Contact The contact URI sent in REGISTER; the vendor sends incoming calls there
Username The user part of the registration
Domain The registrar the request is sent to
Expires Requested registration lifetime in seconds

At least one of Contact, Username and Domain must be filled in. The password is taken from the connection; there is no password field here.

Tick Blocked in the connection form. Blocking also takes the connection out of routing. The registration shows the red ban icon and stops refreshing until you unblock the connection. Deleting the registration removes it for good.
