Account Classes

An account class is a template shared by many accounts. It decides which pages of the account’s self-care portal are available, holds the service codes the accounts dial from their phones, and stores calling defaults. Every account belongs to exactly one class; new accounts get the built-in Default class.

Open My Customers → Account Classes in the left sidebar. The URL is /account_classes.php. The item is shown to users with the edit right on accounts.

Screenshot "admin-panel/account-class-form" has not been generated yet — see scripts/screenshots/screens.yml.

The list shows Name and Description of your classes, with a search on the name (is like / is not like). The built-in Default class is listed too. It cannot be edited or deleted: its fields are read-only.

The form has four tabs.

Field Meaning
Name Name shown in the Account Class list of the account form
Description Free text shown in the list
CLD Tr. Rule, CLI Tr. Rule Default translation rules for the called and calling number
Max Session Time Default longest call in seconds, 3600 for a new class

Voicemail, Generate Ringbacktone, SIP Registration, On-Net Calls, Allow Free On-Net Calls, CPE Auto-Provisioning and Follow-Me Enabled are the class defaults for the account fields of the same meaning. Calling Card IVR appears when the calling card module is installed and Conferencing when conferencing is enabled.

Some of them also gate pages of the account’s portal:

  • Voicemail: the account sees Voice Messages only when both the class and the account have voicemail on.
  • Follow-Me Enabled: the account sees Follow Me only when both the class and the account have it on.
  • Calling Card IVR: shows the calling card pages Trusted Numbers and Hot Keys/Smart Dialing.
  • Conferencing: shows Schedule a Conference.

The eight codes an account dials from its phone: Call Forwarding Enable, Call Forwarding Disable, DND Enable, DND Disable, Block Anonymous, Unblock Anonymous, Block Last Caller and Unblock Last Blocked. Each has a checkbox: when it is on, the code field takes one or more codes, when it is off the service shows Disabled. Ticking the box fills in the system default code. A new class starts with every code disabled.

Accounts whose own service code is Default use the class code, so a change here applies to existing accounts at once. See Service Codes for the format and what each code does.

These switches apply to every account of the class, existing ones included, from the next page the account opens.

Field Meaning
Web Self-Care The account may log in to its portal. Off rejects the login
Debit/Credit Card Top-up Shows Debit/Credit Cards in the portal and allows auto charge on low balance
Voucher Top-up Allows top-up with vouchers
Web Phone Shows the web phone, when the module is installed
Web Callback Shows Callback, when the module is installed

Require KYC Accounts of this class are asked to pass KYC verification in the portal. Shown when the KYC module is on
  1. Click Add Account Class.
  2. Enter Name and Description.
  3. Open Calling Features and set the defaults.
  4. Open Service Codes and tick the codes the accounts may use.
  5. Open Web Features and clear what the accounts must not see.
  6. Click Save & Close.

Then select the class in Account Class on the Basic tab of each account, or in the Account Class column of an accounts upload.

Click the name in the list. Changes to Service Codes and Web Features reach every account of the class. The Calling Features and Basic Parameters values do not change existing accounts.

Click the trash icon in the row. The icon appears only for classes that no account uses; move the accounts to another class first.
