Rates

A rate is the price of one destination prefix inside a tariff: the length and price of the first billing interval and of every following one, with optional activation and expiration dates. For a called number the switch picks the rate with the longest matching prefix that is active at the time of the call. A prefix without a rate cannot be called. See Rating and billing.

Click Rates in the row of a tariff on the Tariffs or Tariff Plans screen, or open the Rates tab of the tariff form. The URL is /rates_tariff.php?i_tariff=<id>. Viewing and Download need a customer login; adding, editing, deleting and Upload need the right to edit tariffs.

Screenshot "admin-panel/rates-list" has not been generated yet — see scripts/screenshots/screens.yml.
Column Meaning
Status Check Currently Active, since …; clock Effective In Future, from …; ban Discontinued, since …
Prefix The destination prefix, linking to the form
Country, Description Looked up from the Destinations table by prefix; — when unknown
Int. 1, sec, Int. N, sec Length of the first and of each following billing interval
Price 1, Price N Price per minute of the first and of each following interval, in the tariff currency
Grace Whether the tariff’s grace period applies to this prefix

A forbidden prefix shows Forbidden Destination instead of its prices. Rows are sorted by prefix, newest activation first, so a prefix with price history shows the current rate above the discontinued one.

The filter takes a Prefix with is like / is not like (exact unless you add %), an Activation Date condition (Activation Date, Activation before, Activation since) and an Expiration Date condition (Expiration Date, Expired before, Expired since), each with the presets Any, Never, Tomorrow, In 2 Days and In 1 Week.

The buttons are Delete All, Upload, Add Rate and Download. A status line under them reports the progress of an upload.

  1. Click Add Rate.
  2. Enter Prefix. Digits, letters, _, # and * are allowed. Special prefixes: onnet_out and onnet_in price calls between your own accounts, voicemail_check prices voicemail access; an incoming tariff uses default as its catch-all.
  3. Enter Interval 1, sec and Price 1, then Interval N, sec and Price N. Leaving Price N empty copies Price 1 into it. 60 / 60 bills per minute, 60 / 1 the first minute in full and then per second.
  4. Keep Activation Date at now or set a future date to load next month’s prices in advance. Keep Expiration Date at never.
  5. Tick Forbidden instead of entering prices to block the prefix.
  6. Click Save & Close.

Adding a rate for a prefix that already has an open-ended rate closes the old one at the new activation date, so the history stays visible. See Activation and expiration dates.

Open the prefix. The Activation Date of a rate that is already active cannot be changed; set an Expiration Date instead and add a new rate for the new price. Discontinued rates are read-only. With Local Calling enabled on the tariff, the form adds Area/State Name and the local intervals and prices used when the caller is in the same area.

Upload takes a .csv or .xlsx file and opens Map CSV Columns, where each tariff field is paired with a column of your file:

  1. Click Upload and choose the file. The first row must be a header; columns named prefix, price, rate, interval 1 and similar are matched automatically.
  2. Check the mapping. Prefix and Price N are required; set a Default Value for unmapped fields, and a Multiplier on Price 1 and Price N to add a margin, for example 1.2 for 20%.
  3. Choose the default Action: A — Add, U — Update by Id, S — Update by Prefix, AS — Add or Update, D — Delete. A mapped Action column overrides it per row.
  4. Click Import. The tariff is locked while the job runs in the background; the status line shows the percentage and finishes with Finished on … or Get report. for the rows that failed.

The report lists each failed row with an Error Message. Typical ones are a prefix with illegal characters, a negative price, an activation date in the past, and Another Rate with conflicting "Prefix" or "Activation/Expiration Date" already exists.

Download exports the rates matching the current filter in your download format, CSV or Excel, with the columns Action, Id, Prefix, Country, Interval 1, Interval N, Price 1, Price N, Forbidden, Grace Period, Activation Date and Expiration Date. Edit that file and upload it back with U in the Action column to change prices in bulk. See Mass loading of rates and General method for uploading data.

Delete in a row removes one rate. Delete All removes every rate of the tariff after a confirmation. Both are refused while an upload is in progress.
