Supported versions

FlySIP supports the three latest production releases of the softswitch: the newest release and the two before it. A supported release gets bug fixes and security updates. An older release keeps working, but it gets no new patches.

  1. A new release first ships as an alpha. With it, FlySIP announces which release reaches end of support next.
  2. About one month after the new release goes to production, the oldest of the three supported releases reaches end of support.
  3. From then on FlySIP creates no new fixes, features or security patches for it. A patch that already existed for that release can still be applied on request.

Partners with many servers can ask for a longer transition. The releases and their changes are listed in the Changelog.

  • Supported release: one of the three latest production releases; it receives fixes and security updates.
  • End of support: the date after which a release receives no new patches. The switch keeps running.

Your switch runs a release at end of support

Calls, billing and the panel keep working as before. You miss security fixes and every feature added since. Plan the upgrade with FlySIP support: upgrades are included in an active support agreement.

You can still upgrade, but a jump over several releases can take extra work and cost. Sometimes it is easier to install the latest release and move the configuration to it. FlySIP support tells you which way is shorter for your switch.
