Add a calling card IVR application
The IVR application is the voice menu that answers a calling card call: it greets the caller, offers the languages, asks for the card number and PIN and connects the call. This step creates the application shell; the next step sets its behaviour. Allow 10 minutes.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You have Administrator access and the Calling Card module is activated on your switch; otherwise Calling Card is missing from the Type list.
- You know which languages the IVR should offer. The switch ships with a set of prompt languages; English is always available.
Step 1: Open the IVR applications
Section titled “Step 1: Open the IVR applications”- Open DIDs & IVR Apps → IVR Applications in the left sidebar. The list shows the applications that exist, with Name, Type and Description.
- Click Add New.
Step 2: Name the application and set its type
Section titled “Step 2: Name the application and set its type”- Enter Name:
Red Card, and a Description such asCheap North American calls. The name is what you will select on the DID. - Under Type & Languages select Type: Calling Card. The language selectors appear once the type is chosen.
Step 3: Choose the languages
Section titled “Step 3: Choose the languages”- Select 1st Language: the language of the first menu option. Callers press
1for it. - Select 2nd Language and further languages for the options
2,3and so on. Leave the next selector at None after the last language. A single language skips the language menu altogether. - Click Save & Close.
Screenshot "admin-panel/ivr-application-form" has not been generated yet — see scripts/screenshots/screens.yml.
Result: Red Card is listed with the type Calling Card. The application works with the default options from this moment; the next step tailors them.
What’s next
Section titled “What’s next”- Configure calling card parameters: balance announcements, card length, attempts.
