Vendors

A vendor is a carrier you send calls to. The vendor record holds the carrier’s currency, balance and contact data; the gateways you actually send calls to are its connections, and the prices it charges are its termination routes. One vendor can have many connections.

Open Vendors → Vendors in the left sidebar. The URL is /vendors.php. The screen requires system management rights; Add Vendor, editing and Delete follow the add, edit and delete rights of your access level.

Screenshot "admin-panel/vendors-list" has not been generated yet — see scripts/screenshots/screens.yml.
Column Meaning
Name The vendor’s name, linking to the form
Login The vendor’s login for its own portal
Balance What you owe the vendor, converted to your base currency. Red below zero. It goes down as you terminate calls and up when you record a payment
Currency The vendor’s own base currency

The Vendor Name filter matches any part of the name, case-insensitively. Each row has a Connections button, a wallet icon for Add Balance, and an Actions menu with Edit, Add Balance, Connections, Login as, Preferences, Reports and Delete.

  1. Click Add Vendor.
  2. Enter Vendor Name. Leaving the field fills Web Login with the name without spaces and punctuation.
  3. Keep the generated Web Password or type your own. Click the eye icon to reveal it; it is not shown after saving.
  4. Select Base Currency: the currency of the vendor’s price list and invoices.
  5. Select Time Zone and Language. Use the time zone the vendor bills you in, so that daily totals match the vendor’s invoice.
  6. Leave Balance at 0 unless you already have a prepaid deposit with the carrier.
  7. Click Save & Close.

The form has three tabs plus a Connections tab that opens the connections list. In edit mode the stats bar shows the current Balance in the vendor’s currency.

Company, address and contact fields: Company Name, First Name, Last Name, Address, City, Province/State, Postal Code, Country/Region, Contact, E-Mail, Phone, Fax, CC and BCC. All optional.

Click the wallet icon in the list or Actions → Add Balance:

  1. Select Add Funds to record a payment you made to the vendor, Manual Charge to debit the balance, or Manual Credit to credit it without a payment.
  2. Enter Amount and select the Currency. The vendor’s currency is preselected.
  3. Enter Notes and confirm.

The same operations exist at the top of the edit form next to Save, where they run after the form is saved. Prefer the modal: the form’s operation is skipped silently when the page is stale, for example after the browser’s back button.

Actions → Login as opens the vendor’s portal in a new window without a password. The portal shows the vendor’s connections, call records and reports, and under My Preferences the vendor’s own password, time zone and address.

Actions → Delete warns how many connections the vendor has and deletes them together with the vendor. Routing group entries that used those connections stop matching; review the routing groups afterwards. The vendor’s CDRs stay in the reports.
